starting to talk?

at what age did your conure start talking? mine sound like he has been trying to say his name (cheeky) and he is only 7 months atm but only does this when he is in a certain mood i am hoping if i get another bird it wont halt him trying to talk

my black capped conure Rocky is gona be 7 months old in 2 days but he has been talking since he has been at the bird store that i got him from and they told me he's been saying his one word that he knew at the time since he was like 5 months old i believe. It just depends on the bird. just recently he has started to say his name and also now he is saying step up as he steps up onto my finger.

i suppose another thing is i don't know how much the previos owner spoke to them the few months before i got him also

I have a Hahn's Macaw and my Hahn's started talking after I left her boarded at an exotic bird store while I was on vacation. The other birds actually influenced her to talk. That's my experience with all of this.
