So I am gussing my 2 year old YNA dosnt like to handled at all, this means no step ups after 6 months of tying I will respect him and stop tryng how ever he dose step up on to a baby chair which is what I move him around in I put it in front of him he steps up on to that not my hand, he still letd me scracth him and pet him now and then.

Most of the time birds who won't step up have either never been taught, or are just playing the "I don't know what your talking about game". I've had people tell me their bird won't step up for them and it must have never been taught, and I persist to ask for it and sure enough they step right up.

Have you tried using treat as a coax? If you get the bird onto a training perch, or the baby chair your speaking of. Then place your hand at his breast, and another with his favorite treat slightly above. Push lightly on the breast and ask for "step up".

Do you know the background of the bird? Had it ever stepped up before?

Wow, I feel soooo lucky. I just told mine he had to step up or fly there himself. He picked the fly there method for about a week and then he realized he could be lazy & make me do the walking.

How much time do you spend trying this every day? Do you know his moods & signals & which times of the day he is more responsive? Is he fully flighted? How much out of the cage time does he get? Is he out of his cage and around the house when you ask him to step up or do you only try in his cage? I let mine climb out of his cage himself & then ask him to step up. That way I show he has a choice to come out but then if he does come out I'm in charge. Mr. Precious will turn his head away as a first warning, open his beak & lean forward about 2 inches as his second warning & if you still haven't caught on he'll do the fake out lunge.

Yes thats exactly what I also do. A finger on the breast and ask for "step up"
