GCC Peanut Male hatched 19/10/12
Hey to everyone. Im from the UK and Mum to Peanut, a 13 week old GC. Having "him" DNA sexed and microchipped next week. At times he puts his beak down onto the table and runs around like he is mad. Is this normal for a conure? Any info would be great thanks

Yup, it's juvenile play.....nothing to worry about.

Enjoy your new feathered friend & welcome to the forum.

Welcome to both you and peanut.:):)

Welcome to the forum! We love pictures :D

My GCC does the same thing on the back of the sofa; you can hear a loud ziiiiiiiiiip as he runs by. I think it's a tactile thing, but he does it quite a lot. :)

My GCC loves to do that on our glass table. He looks at his reflection, and runs all over the table with his beak touching the glass!

That always cracks me up...my little guy does it to everything, the leather couch, the countertop, cardboard boxes and most recently the wood floors. It makes my daughter laugh so hard!

Welcome to te forum!
Yes that is perfectly normal, my boys still do that and they are almost a year old. Sometimes they head butt each other while doing it its hilarious!:D

My Molly is almost two and does it on metal because, I think, she loves the sound. As others do, Molly does it on the counter top, glass, between the cage bars. Bottom line is they have some nerves in their beak and it is just another appendage that they use to "feel" around. Ultimately it is only strange behavior to the new GCC owners! :) Enjoy experiencing each day with your baby!!

Thanks everyone! Life with Peanut is such fun!

I'm convinced this is how my GCC think being sneaky should look, cracks me up every time!
