So, there are several things people can eat that are toxic to birds, most notably (to me anyway) is avocado. Does anyone know of something that is good/harmless for birds that is dangerous for people?

In captivity, not really....In the wild, yes! There are fruits that wild parrots eat that are toxic even to them, but they learn to balance it with something that helps to detoxify the toxic fruit. For example, they play this often on the WILD station and I've seen it I dunno how many times, the birds eats the Clay at the river banks to help detoxify what they've eaten so they could digest the food.

i seen that same show on the wilds before

It is weird how those things go. Sheep and cattle can eat moldy hay, but horses get very sick and can even die. So if you have something other than horses, you can leave a big bale of hay outside for them to eat and not worry about it getting rained or snowed on, but not with horses.
