So, would like to share my success. After about 3 years, my Cinnamon male Green Cheek Conure & my Pineapple Green Cheek have finally produced some chicks!

It's been a long wait. They had 2 nests last winter, all infertile. Chi Chi (female) pulled her breast feathers out and pouted. Took the box away & she regrew all feathers, with even more red.

This winter we were lucky, on January 26th we had our first chick hatch & I pulled him for handfeeding after 3 weeks. He (a total guess on gender) is a crazy spoiled little monster. Loves his head rubbed & sounds like a dinosaur.

Within the last week, 4 new chicks have hatched. There is only 1 egg remaining, but I almost hope that it doesn't hatch (haha). I plan to handfeed these as well, then will remove the box.

Wondering if there are any good links out there on breeding GCC's. I've never found much info, especially for handfeeding this particular species. I've handfed Sun Conures & Cockatiels before but am still surprised about the lack of information.

BTW, my tag is the baby.

Wow! Congratulations on the babies. You have your work cut out for you hand feeding all of them, huh? :)

Congrats on the new hatchlings!!! Very cute! :)

Wow, so first baby (from the 1st nest) just went to his "home". It's a little tame now without him.

Still 4 hatched. Thinking #5 is a dud. Mama bird is NOT happy with me, especially since I took the first baby. Waiting to candle the last egg.

Btw, don't know what to do about berry stains. I've been giving a lot of mixed berries & both parents are a mess!

Oh....and yes, I'm almost scared to try to feed 4 GCC at one time!!!

It's not that bad! Try handfeeding 10+ at a time....lol When they start to fledge is when they start driving me nuts. The moment I open the cage door to handfeed, I have to take one out at a time, they all try to push out all at once. Sometimes they succeed....Where I have some on my head, on my shoulders, arms, hands, etc. All directions begging me to feed....lol

So I can confirm 4 beautiful healthy chicks. Haven't yet bought more batteries to take pictures with my digital camera

I am wondering if anyone can explain if my babies could possibly be pineapple or split for this? I believe "pineapple" is just a mix of Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure mutation & the Cinnamon mutation, based on some reading. I don't know how the mutations work with Conures, so I'm wondering if my babies can be split?

My male is a Cinnamon and female is a Pineapple. Appreciate any help!

Pulled 2 of the hatchlings last week & will pull the other 2 tonight. Really excited for the next week, I'm thinking 2 are possibly Pineapple! Lots of red coming in above the eyes & yellow near their mouths.

Hopefully I can remember to buy some batteries for the camera so I can take pictures :)

Pretty sure 2 are Pineapple, 1 Cinnamon, & not sure about the 3rd.

See the red near the beak? Also found above the eye, and lots of yellow:

Getting all 4 in one picture without any blur is hard!

What precious little faces!

Awwwwww....they're sooooo cute when babies until fledgling time, then they're little terrorist!!!! The part I do not look forward to is during fledgling time....

LoL, yes....I always ask them when they signed up for Al Qaeda....seems to be an overnight sort of thing.

My 3rd youngest is finally eating happily. First few days he screamed every time I came to play with him, but now he seems to look forward to my visits. He would turn around and look at me sideways with the syringe in my hand as if I was some alien coming to probe him (haha). Poor guy, I probably should pull them from the nest a little sooner next time.

My 5 month old "deer" Chihuahua and baby 4. Great exposure for both, puppy fell asleep in the background while I took the other pictures.

Wow they grow so quick!

It's funny how they lean to one side or lean on each other, the box etc. I find when loco is relaxed he leans on my hand etc. Must be a relaxed thing.
