Sudden Aggressive Egg laying Female

My female just started laying eggs. She laid 3 of them all within a short time of eachother. Shes fixated on the last one, which when I approach the cage she makes terrible honking noises. Shes been doing this to the point where shes loosing her voice. So I've been trying to leave her alone and only come near her cage when she needs food. Shes been eating super aggressively and now shes flipping out in her cage, running around and trying to bite at me through the bars. I also noticed she seems to be stressed when shes breathing. Which is how she was acting before she laid the first egg. I'm taking her to a vet at 2 today, but I want to make sure I'm well informed before I go.

I think you are making a very wise decision in taking beautiful Ruby to the vet for a health check. I don't have a female eclectus but I do have a female quaker that has similar issues that seem to be a direct result of hormones and egg laying. During hormone season she gets very aggressive and tends to over-preen, As her hormone levels rise her aggression, hyperactivity and over preening escalate to plucking and even picking her skin to the point of bleeding.

Harry's av vet examined her thoroughly, recommended an organic diet, gave her vitamin supplements, and gave me some useful tips on helping to minimize her nesting tendencies.
A journal is very helpful to keep track of her seasonal issues. No immediate cure, but there are ways to make it easier for you and your girl.
