Sun conure afraid of new perch

It's just a basic wooden perch that I wrapped in vet wrap so she doesn't slip off it, and apparently it's going to kill her!!! LOL How do I get her used to it so she's not afraid to go in her cage when it's in there? I took it out, showed it to her, had her touch it and step up on it and praised her for doing it, but still a no go. She's never had this issue, so this is new for me! Thanks for any input

I have a bird who doesn't like the bright color vet wrap. If I wrap things in the neutral colored vet wrap she is fine with it...other wise...forget it she isn't going near it.

Just try taking the tape off and using the wooden perch. I bet you anything you'll have more luck that way
