Mia- Sun Conure
Mia seems to have quieted down over the past week or so (she is not as verbal and rambunxious) and does not seem as eager to come out of her cage as she once did. She seems to be eating fine and does not look unhealthy. She is not sitting at the bottom of cage but sits on her perch. I did add millet to her cage last week and she seems to REALLY enjoy eating it as well as her zupreem (sp?) pellets.

Is this quieter behavior normal? I do not use a cover at night for her cage nor do I use a lamp that I see mentioned.

I once thought it was a bit annoying but now that she is quieter I now miss the frequent chirps and eagerness to come out and play. . .

Thanks for any advice.

James

I dont know, but if I were you i would monitor her for a bit and if she still acts different I would take her to a vet just for a precautionary check up because with birds you can never be to careful.Has she ever acted like this before? Plus if she is eating and drinking then she should be ok for now but I would maybe take her to the vet if it does not change...Maybe im just too cautious about these things because i lost my gcc to a systematic fungal infection and we didnt figure out she was sick till it was too late.Just keep in mind that birds hide ilness ...hope this helps,

Thanks Barbara. I think I am going to call the Vet and see what they say. She normally loves to be on my shoulder a lot and lately she doesnt want to step up and often doesn't want to leave her cage. I am worried about her.
