Hi i was given a sun conure a month ago and things were going well she would get out of her cage sit on everybodies shoulder the we would put her back in her cage with a treat
2 days ago i came home and noticed she would not get out of her cage i tried to lure her out with treat she would barely eat out of my hand and if i reach out for her she would bite me real hard dont know what happened or if something happened when i was a work the kids were home from school snow day i asked them if anything happened and the say no
please help i like this bird alot

also she is on a seed diet sunscription vita prima conure formula shoul i try to switch to pellets thanks

Perhaps the kids accidentally scared her and they're afraid to fess up. Or perhaps they aren't even aware that they frightened her. Anyhow, something has changed. It takes time and a lot of patience to build trust again. It may even take a few months. For now, I would sit near the cage and talk to her. When you open the cage, allow her to step out and come to you. Don't give up on your Sun!

My suns often don't come out. Open the door and leave it open. If she comes out she comes out. I swear if I didn't make Houdini come out bed stay in there always. .
