Hello Everyone,
So after a long hard look at my apartment today I/we decided that we only have room for one medium parrot, our Goffins.
. But let met tell you a little story. My first interest in birds was not my wife's Goffins. We were strolling through petco or petsmart ( horrible i know) for fish food. Out of the corner of my eye I saw this beautiful bright bird, our eyes caught, and it was love at second sight. Second because I was used to this Goffins, who in the beginning of my wife and I's relationship would SCREEM.So at second look, he was pressed up against the cage just waiting to be loved. Like a young child I stuck my hand in the cage. He clung to it rubbing his head against my palm, we played for an hour. I turned to my wife and said, I want him. She laughed, and responded with " in our 450 square foot apartment, with Tucker and all your beer brewing equipment". I slowly slumped my head (again like a child) and replied with your right, but he is awesome sauce. Fast forward 5 years later and we were in a horrible bird store, where the owner was giving us completely bogus information on the breeds (I do my homework),on the bright side there were three sun conures, and two caiques. I again turned to my wife and said, (this time a little more maturely) I still love these birds. This time she replied with lets start actively looking after our vacation. The kid inside me sprung up with a huge ear to ear grin. So I have a few questions that I hope you wonderful people can help me with. How are Sun conures with other birds, Tucker has had a small companion almost all 25 years of his life, its just been the last few that he hasn't. Does anyone know any reputable breeders in the NYC and surrounding area. And I know tho isn't the caique forum but I am asking the same two questions for them as well.
Thank you
P.s We now live in a much bigger apartment.
