Sydney Australia Rescue Centres

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know of any rescue centres in Sydney Australia? I would love to volunteer at a Parrot Rescue but finding it very difficult to find them :-(

unfortunately Australia isn't like the U.S with parrot rescue centres, the only one can think of is in qld

Hmmm that's a shame :-( I could only find one in qld aslo.

AFAIK, the only thing remotely like a rescue centre is the RSPCA. Our local one holds a few native birds, including injured parrots brought in by the public, but it's very small and low-key. It's been my experience that when Australian people get sick of their parrots, they simply open the cage and release them 'back to Nature' (ie. to a slow and awful death). It's disgusting for a country that contains so many of the world's beloved parrots and touts itself as being environmentally savvy!
