Ive seen the ad in at the top for so long and watched it this past weekend. Such a good show about a family who builds custom aquariums. It was really newt to watch them make aquariums out of cars, refrigerators, and all kinds of things!

They do make some awesome aquariums but since I've kept aquariums for years the first thing I think when I see them make a new one is, how in the h*ll are you going to clean that??? lol

I also love watching that show. I can't even imagine how much some of those aquariums must cost! My only real complaint with the show is that they seem to over stock the tanks most of the time.

I have always loved aquariums. They are truly beautiful, ans tanked does a great job with them.

Most aquariums if setup right, never need to be cleaned. we have a 55 gallon community tank and an 80 gallon should be cichlid tank, but its not the way i want it yet. Neither require cleaning, even tho my boyfriend insists on cleaning it, lol. Its all in how you put it together

That could be true about most tanks. I only keep large fancy goldfish, bare bottom tanks. Goldies are messy, messy creatures and require at least a weekly water change. I keep green algea purposely on the back and sides for water quality but it's hard to keep algae in one area and not have it all over. Snails were helping but my big babies love to snack on them! I tried a planted, balanced tank too but the pigs eat everything or tear up the plants. If they can't eat it, they will play with it! lol, gotta love goldie attitude!

Caribsea makes an amazing substrate. We use the one for planted aquariums and it turns the poop to plant food and makes for an easy aquarium. If you buy the right plants, like swords...they grow insanely fast. I learned he other day, from watching tanked, that goldfish have to eat like 4 times a day because they have no stomach. No wonder they are so messy!

LOL, yes always eating and always pooping!!! And sometimes trying to eat their poop....yuck!

Right now all my fish are in my pond and I've shut down the indoor tanks. I use to keep Ranchu, ryukin, pearlscale, oranda, and lionheads. Problem with many fancies is they are little mutants and many have swim bladder issues at some point. They have to have special diets as most commercial food constipates them. Now I am only keeping watonia and wakin goldies because they are hardier. Stock tanks are waiting for eggs and fry!!!
I love planted tanks, they are beautiful!!!

The only thing wrong with that show is the wife that complains about getting in the tank with a three foot black tip shark ,lolol. She has got to be kidding !!!!
