Teaching step ups

Does anyone have the magic formula for teaching a clueless birdie step ups? He’s just not getting it although he’s really not afraid of us or our hands, he’ll fly from wherever to our hands when we hold it flat with a treat, but as soon as we try stepping up he’s flying away or walking away or just jumping over our fingers lol

FYI: You have a Parrot that is choosing to fly to you and landing! There are a ton of members that would love to have their Parrots do that!

Jennifer. Pretty soon you'll be out to dinner and you go to run your hand through you hair and realize that there's bird poop in you hair.....Then you will have passed the parrot initiation.

Hahaha yes he does love our hair! I’m ok with him not doing an official step up but I thought that was like a “must” basic. He’s pretty darn awesome haha

I would definitely train him to step up, I think Sailboat was just commenting that you were lucky that he flies to you.
