Hello everyone! How are you doing? I discovered this image the other day I had taken off a breeder's page off FB a long time ago. I wanted to ask has anyone here ever seen a Scarlet THIS big? If yes then can you please tell me which region do they come from?

Maybe this macaw and Cotton have been corresponding.

I wonder what could make a tail grow longer?

Um, we don't have any compromise to know its actual size

But when we talk about tail - in the past Jaś seemed to have longer tail than my other Bourkes but it was just illusion because of his clipped wings. Idk why the macaw has a longer tail (I see its wings aren't clipped) but in the case of Cotton it may be a similar illusion caused by lack of flight feathers.

I think part of why cottons tail looks so long is that he only has those longest feathers or feather and none of the smaller supporting feathers that fan out at the tail base.

Yep his little naked butt does reveal the true length of his tail ;) It's still more than twice as long as his body but is all the more impressive in its single feather glory :)

I showed it to a few well experienced people I know they all thought it was definitely bigger than whatever they had seen. But you might just be right :)
Also I have been told by a very experienced trader from the Netherlands that there are Scarlets out there the size of Green Wings.

He was actually really sick with a respiratory infection, plus had almost no feathers except his head, plus only really ate sunflower seeds and nuts. So he needed some extra care for sure.
Great job taking him in. How is his temperament?
