Female Dusky Conure (Kayak) Female Sun Conure (Carlisle) Female Budgie (Meister) Male Budgie (Spooky Burd)
I made little birdy muffins a while ago. I froze most of the batch to keep from getting moldy. I take some out and let them thaw for my two conures to eat. My budgies won't touch them :( Both Kayak and Carlisle go nuts when they see me taking the paper off the outside of them. The muffins are made with 2 jars of baby food, some oatmeal (to absorb the excess moisture from the baby food), and some corn muffin mix. It's not an exact science and they change every time I bake them. They smell so good that I want to eat them. They don't taste half bad (I couldn't help myself and had to try one when I first make them), but I think Carlisle would hurt me if I ate one every time I gave them theirs.

I gave them their birdy muffins tonight and Carlisle was making the cutest little noises while holding the entire thing in his food. Kayak normally rips a huge chunk off hers and eats it that way and of course dunks it in her water .

Okay, that is seriously adorable :D

P.S.- On a completely unrelated note, I LOVE the quote in your signature!! So true. ;)

Glad to see you are in NJ....I will have my boyfriend pick some up from you when he visits his parents...lol. My little guy has never been so excited over things like that before. You have to give us the general breakdown on the recipe and baking temp and time.

It's so true! I love that quote too. I'm an avid reader and it makes me sad to see people who can read choose not to. I understand people don't enjoy reading and that's fine, but being able to read opens up a whole world of educating yourself. It can be as googling how to do something and with just that you've got an advantage over somebody who cannot read.

I'm that person that reads EVERYTHING just for the sake of reading it. I read cereal boxes, manuals, random pieces of paper I find, etc. I don't know what compels me to read it but I always have an overwhelming urge to read whatever it says.

Haha! I doubt I'll have any left. If I do he'll probably have to fight Carlisle and Kayak for them! They don't share very well. I've gotta make more soon. The current batch is running low and I'll have some seriously angry birds if I run out. Next time I make a batch I'll take note of what I use exactly. Most times I just wing it (ooooh see what I did there? :p) and make it off the top of my head. I follow basic guidelines but the recipe is never the same. I wish I could do this with human food :( I can bake and cook fairly well, but I need directions. I'm always jealous of people who can throw a meal together with whatever they have laying around the house and have it taste so good!
