Hi guys and gals,
I just thought I would share a small secret.
Caesar has been turning his beak up at most fruit I serve him up vegies fine gobbles them down. I've try so many different ways of presentation its not funny. This by the way is a new thing for him.
Any way I know his candy is pomegranates so I decided to chop all fruit into about one cm squares and add half a pomegranates and mix the fruit so that every piece was covered in that juice of the granate. He knew what I was trying to do but the over whelming addiction got to him and he had to eat the fruit to get the taste of the granate .
One point to me!!. He ate almost everything that was served up...
I was starting to get worried as he was piking just grapes and corn out and I to corn completely away from his fruit meal (even though its a veggie)
Anyway I don't know the fascination with these pomegranates as they taste like crap.
Anyway I thought I would share,:green2:

all my birds just love Pomagranites

I don't think it tastes like crap.
I love pomegranates, and so as my birds. They have it in the morning and in the evening when in season. I don't know what I am going to do when the season is over....

Mine love them almost too much! I have sister greys, and the only time they re-feed eachother is when they have it. Ick... Normal, but ick...

Well that's just fantastic ! I'm not having any luck with getting my birds to eat poms tho - I have been giving my lovebirds and my parrotlets pomengranates every single day and if they have eat any of them, it wasn't enough for me to notice, but I keep trying. I think they are an amazing fruit with lots of vitamins so I'd be so happy if I could get them to eat them. Plus they're not the cheapest fruits. My birds seem to prefer vegetables to fruit, but you'd think a pomengrante seed would be irresistable.

Even my linnies who won't eat anything love pomegranate. My sennie loves it to.

Wow, I was just looking at the pomegranate the other day wondering if Oliver would eat it and decided since I don't have a clue what this fruit tastes like or what to do with it I'd pass. I guess I need to reconsider...

Yep my Alex loves pomegranates. We can also get dried ones over here and she loves them just as much.

ROTFL! Is it just me?

Every time I see the title of this thread, I have a picture of an ancient wizard, covered in white bird poop, conjuring over a bubbling cauldron. In his hand is a Magic Pomegranate, which he waves about before dropping it in the cauldron. The bubbles grow and burst into rainbow-coloured steam and suddenly every parrot known to wo/man flies out of the smoke.

Or, d'you think I've had one too many drinkies over Christmas?

Trish perhaps it is the second option. Hahaha :)

Although the way Bundii thinks of pomegranates you would think that they are real magic.

I just wish they weren't so much work to get the pomegranate seeds out of the fruit!

Pomegranates are delicious, OMG all my birds love them. I buy them already to eat in the produce department. No work just serve them up. Also sprouts are a must. My birds love fresh sprouts!!!!!!!
