Fargo- Blue and Gold Macaw
No explanation needed, other than Fargo is a genius and I have a major exam in less than 2 days and I really need to study/cram.. :09:

Fargo is just having play time, and then staying in his cage, then coming out, and then going back in for a bit, and then another play time.. Just so I can study properly without having him distracting me playing on my books.. :09:

Needless to say.. He doesn't have a tantrum, he doesn't scream, he doesn't get upset..

He just finds a way to climb out...

I can't even be mad, because of how impressive it is.. He really has the skill figured out :20:

Now, the screw is tightened with a screw driver, as tight as possible, i can't even budge it..

and yet he opens it with absolute ease

I thought you might all enjoy watching him escape...

Ahahah with the music it is just awesome! Smart boy Fargo!!!

You've got to love it. He's a smart boy and proves it!

He's brilliant and beautiful...and quick! I love the soundtrack, Tab!

Oh, the cute little stinker! He must know you'll study better with him looking over your shoulder. He's gotta keep an eye on you and make sure you're not taking unauthorized breaks to browse the parrot forums..

Oh, I'm so glad that you are not an enabler, like me.....

WHY is that hand there ready for him to step onto? :D :D

Classic Fargo, love it.

hah i watched it twice, had me cracking up.

Fargo is Gifted and Talented! I've been saying it for ages: this just proves it.

Loved the music, Tab. Best of luck with your exams. :D

Hahahaha I only enabled that one time!! ;)

He kept getting out, so I decided to video it, and yep, he performed lovely for the camera! :p

I have put rope through it now so he can't open it, he wasn't too impressed.. He kept pushing it back and forth but it wouldn't open :D hahaha

and thanks Trish!! It is biochemistry.. :20: The hardest exam.. Have completed human anatomy and medi prof prac exams, so just one more to go and then the term is all over!

I just hope I am concentrating on studying the right things... I always study soooo much, and then i get to the exam and it is incredibly easy, and i realise i studied more topics than i should have :54:

That way around is ok, the other way is not so good.... :D

Poor little Fargo, gone from starring in "The Great Houdini" to a role in "Prisoner". I wonder if he can master "Escape from Alcatraz" or "Papillon"? We wait for his next video, untying his binds and escaping once more, thrilling his audience with his exploits.

Hahahaha! Loved the video, Robin! The absolute certainty with which he heads to that door and the seeming disdain with which he treats the latch had me cracking up! Like it wasn't even there!

I actually had to look at the video a second time to really see what was happening, because at first it appeared as though he'd simply pushed open an unsecured door. Cute video, but not exactly a Great Escape, you know? But seeing as how I've never known my dear friend to be much prone to hyperbole, I replayed the video and took a closer look.

AH-HA! There it was! He'd just turned the latch so quickly and casually that I hadn't even registered the movement the first time! Hahaha! Love it!

And as for your seeming "over-preparation" for your exams, I just take that as you favoring preparation to the vagaries and capricious whims of Lady Luck. How do you know that you'll be ready for anything? Study for everything! ;)

BAHAHAHAH!!! Loved it, Tab!! :D

And you think ROPE will prevent him from doing it again if he REALLY wanted to get out again? :54: I'm sure you remember the dilemma I was in with first just Niko, and then Niko AND Ripley. :11:

Good luck on your exams, sweetie, you'll be brilliant - no doubt in my mind. :smile015:

I know the feling, we have Rossi our b&g macaw 4weeks now, and had to put chains on the front door, all 5 latches for the food trays, and the gril on the bottom together with the tray underneed it, because he escapes on every possible exit, i think the previous owner teached him to do so (every escape takes less than 10sec once he gets to to place he wants to get out).
The only solution is a chain and lock in my case.
We find it funny and to get him out we remove 1 different chain every time to let him out and sometimes his has the original lock open quicker than i can remove the chain.
I have a lot of pleasure with him already, didn't expected it when i got him adopted, his already accepting me verry well.
They are so smart, and learn verry fast if they want, i didn't believe it when i saw some video's on the internet

Ahhh... yes.

There is a reason I don't close cage doors anymore at my place.

IT DOESN'T DO ANY GOOD! All five of mine have figured out the latches, and if that doesn't work, try taking the treat cup door off... and if that doesn't work... sweepea figured out how to take the door itself off.

As for Maggie - she just removed all the latches. (Just in case.)

Macaw proof cages?! NO SUCH THING in my opinion!
