i taught Maxx the tickle word and he just loves it, and to
be i guess what he thinks is tickled. really cool he can go for hours just chatting he says a lot of stuff i can't make out. i figure he is picking it up from the TV.
anyway here is a clip the video is not to good it is the audio im posting it for.
i still have to sneak up on him with the camera, he still relates it to the harness
for the strap and even with the strap off he hates it. i have worked on the tickle word for only a short time and he got it. maybe 2 weeks. his human voice has not come around on everything yet but the stuff i can't figure out he is saying is always in a childlike human voice. thinking since i also have a rough voice maybe that is how he is going to mimic me, darn turkey does laugh like me to.

Ah love it! It will get clearer in time and looks to be one of those 'comfort' words they like to store and use when they are just sitting, preening etc. He is a great boy.

Hahahaha! I love it! Plumsmum is right, it will get clearer with time. Especially given how much he seems to enjoy talking! Nice!

quick learner to. when im feeding he will
growl at me well 4 days ago i said wtf to him and thought that
would be a cute one to teach him.lol so been spending a few minutes a day
while feeding working with and today when i took his water dish out in that little voice
here came wtf was so funny i cried.
so since i don't treat train he should always relate it to feeding time. should also be when i hear it.
training will not be easy because basically i have to be able to relate what i want to teach with a memorable experience of theirs other then food.
don't get me wrong im not against treat training, as whatever tools are needed
people are different i have never treat trained, hell they get treats for putting up with me.lol
i want my pets to do things when they wanna, not just when im throwing food their way.

i guess you can say they get no trick treats

Your a better man then me Charlie Brown, if you can get a parrot to do anything if not for a treat. Salty will shake hands, and roll over becasue he enjoys it, but getting him to be much other then that, on command, you'll be asking in vain.

yea Al i have low expectations of being able to teach him
much, but thats ok to.

That's pretty sweet alright. For some reason, it reminds me of how some clerics (Jewish, Hindu, etc) pray quietly and repetitively. Maybe he's communing with the infinite:)

Im jealous! I know Wrangler can talk, he's chatted away under his cage cover on numerous occassions, but never in front of me. He even has several voices and a decent vocabulary. He's content to just hang around me quietly for the most part. I get a few grumbles or happy noises if Im moving around and he's on my shoulder, but when he's on a stand he just does his thing--quietly. I guess I should be happy I dont have a screamer right? Be careful what you wish for!

Haha great video! He's a funny little chap, I've tried really hard to not swear infront of my two ekkies, but the neighbour has a very...erm... colourful vocabulary, so despite my efforts I'm sure I'm going to end up with two foul mouthed hooligans anyway! I've found that my Dexter isn't too keen to talk infront of people, he mostly chatters before bed, but Bella is more willing to talk with an audience, but runs on like there's no tomorrow when nobody's watching. Please keep sharing his antics :)

So funny hahaha :D

Jasper loves saying tickle tickle as well it's absolutely adorable. I've gotta get a video of it or when I tickle him he lifts his wing as high as it can go :D

maxx is the same more less a closet talker mostly.
does his best undercover. if i act like im paying attention he
clams up. if i turn down the tv to hear better he also stops.
however a couple hours in the morning and evening he goes through
maxx chatter time. mornings he tends to get quite loud at times doing his
natural calls along with the chatter. it is pretty cool he seems to be spitting out new stuff on a daily basis. today i called the dog to out. i always say come on odie let's go outside. than maxx spits out come on. lilly does call the dog by his name sometimes .
here is a low volume chat session from evening time.
i myself think this is really practice time for em
