I have noticed a head tilt (most especially when sleeping) in my peace face lovebird. It seems to be effecting Henry a bit and I'm wondering if its anything to worry about. What should I do?

Go to an avian certified vet as soon as possible.

Are there any other symptoms?

I had a cockatiel that developed a head tilt more pronounced that in your pic.

She could only walk around in circles, was very clumsy and spasmodic hed movements when eating.

I had to have her put down.

I must admit this was before I was on the forum and did not know totake her to an avian specialist.

That is the only symptom I can notice right now. I will see how it progresses. I really don't think I can afford to take him to an avian vet at the moment. Would like to get some more feedback on what this is and if it is serious and can be treated, thanks

Birds can sleep in the most awkward of positions. To what degree do you notice this when Henry is awake? Is the tilt always in the same direction? Any other physical issues observed while moving, eating, etc? Is this behavior new, and if so, for how long?

It has been noticed since 2-3 weeks. He seems to be sleeping a lot during the day which may or may not be normal. He has always been quiet since I adopted additional birds. With them it's kind of hard for me to tell as I don't always get to observe him.

Considering the tilt is fairly new with possible excessive sleeping, a visit with a certified avian vet is advisable.
