Hi, I’m going on vacation for 3 nites and my dog sitter is staying at my house. Will it be ok for my AG to remain in her very large cage wo getting out for 3.5 days? My dog sitter can’t get her out as AG will prob bite at her. But willl feed water change papers in cage. The cage is 4 long 3 wide & 5 tall. Many toys . She’s used to getting out daily as I work from home.
Thanks for any info!

Yeah, I've been gone for up to a week and the birds had to stay in their cages because that was safest. They were fine. I tried to make safe, fun stuff for them to do like hiding their nuts in a small paperbag or in a toilet paper roll with newspaper. The lady watching them was able to just drop it in through the food bowl door. Just something extra for them to do since they had to be in their cages so long.

That should OK, your CAG may be a bit resentful but nothing permanent. I ALWAYS recommend tell your parrot in advance tat you'll be gong away for X days ( count them off on your fingers) and do that for a few days before you leave. I used to go to CHina for business 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks at a time, and if I did this Salty would be pretty forgiving when I returned. If I didn't do it, it might be a week or more before he forgave me. Others have tired it and this does work.

Absolutely fine, Enzo has been in her cage for a week whilst I was on a training course and on biking vacations. As long as food and water is fresh each day and your sitter spends some time interacting with the parrot its all good. My neighbour comes in the morning to uncover and feed, chat... then at bed time to settle and cover her.

I was worried first time that Enzo would resent me, but oh no, as soon as I came home I let her out and she went straight to my shoulder regurgitating and shaking her tail feathers, she was so happy to see me.
