We have one 8-month-old male DYH Amazon, and just acquired a 3-year-old male Orange Winged Amazon. How can I help increase the chances that they'll develop a good relationship? DYH is fully flighted, OWA is not, so we do not have them both out of their cages together except occasionally under STRICT supervision. I don't need them to be soulmates or anything, it would just be nice to eventually be able to have them out at the same time without being ready to snatch up one or the other in case things go sour.

They're in separate cages in the same room, with our cockatiel's cage between them as a "buffer".

I suppose you could reward both of them for remaining calm while out and about. Make feeding time a communal thing?

introduce them in neutral territory, so that no one is invading thus no one is forming grudges and its all zen and Switzerland like.

I usually find throwing a cocktail party at a neutral location works best. I also make sure they drive themselves, so they can leave if they want to and not feel pressured.
