So i have a young quaker parrot called Leo and i am in the UK. We are currently having a heat wave and i have him in a large room with the door closed to fly around till his wee heart is content. However the room is getting too warm and i need to keep the door open to let in some cool air but i dont wat to put him in his cage as he does not like it and neither do i but i have to do it for part of the day so the room does not over heat. (i have a tower fan going in the room as well).

What i am wanting to know is if there is something i could put on the door so air can still get though but he cant fly out or the dogs cannot get in?

Any suggestions would be great or even ideas to keep the room cool for both him and me haha :yellow2::yellow2::yellow2:

I have a hanging chain curtain on my lounge door.

Have a look for a door fly screen/net. There are all sorts but some have magnetic closing strips.

All great advice -- a screen curtain of some sort would work great in this situation!

Screen doors and door nets are very common in North America, but near unheard of in Europe. Likely due to the lack of flying bugs, but things are changing.

It is worthwhile to web search the terms since although still rare, they are increasing in use (in Europe).
