So i recently ordered a bunch of replacement toys online, those wicker typer planet pleasures toys, she loves chewing those up.

Just to show how finicky Greys can be with new things....all that i put in her cage, was the exact same toys she had in there, just new.

So same size, same colors, same location....but these were new and not chewed up. Silly me thinking it would be ok to put the same exact things in there and not have a problem.

NOPE...she freaked the **** out! ....she was not having it...I had to take ALL the toys back out.....then she was fine. So we just started with 1 of them, and she allowed it :D

Its too funny to me how they don't like change...even the slightest change of a new toy exactly the same as the old toy!

I can relate. Smokes did the same thing. She would cower in a corner of her house and just sit there, staring at the toy. As soon as it was removed she was back to her old self.
I would end up putting it on top of her roof for a few days for her to inspect it at her leisure.Sometimes she'd give in other times she still wanted nothing to do with it

I would then end up putting/giving it to Amy to bang around or tear apart.

Funny thing tho..when it came to those seed/nut sticks you can hang in her house, she would literly fight me to get at it,and it would be gone in five minutes. She usually just tore it apart rather than munch on it.
Amy however, could make it last a few days and gently tear it apart and at least EAT some of it lol..Some times I thought it was just a big waste of bux,but to see Smokey's eyes flash and pin,I knew she was enjoying it,that made it seem ok to me..
Sighhhh... I miss you,Smokey..:(

Sometimes Zilla does the total freak out if I even just replace part of a toy while it's hanging in her cage. Sometimes she's fine with it. Sometimes I have to take it completely out and lay it on top of the cage so she can check it out and play with it there before I can put it inside.

And oh holy smokes if I dare put a new toy in her cage! She won't go back in until I remove it. Last time I ordered from mysafebirdstore I couldn't figure out why she wasn't going to bed at her usual time. I tried putting her inside, she climbed up my arm as fast as she could. I tried again, same results. This from a bird who loves her cage and always puts herself to bed and demands to be covered up and then "whines" at me to turn the lights and TV off and go to bed so she can go to sleep! I tried 4 or 5 times to put her to bed with no luck before it hit me...I put new toys in her cage that afternoon. She was on me and on top of her cage playing while I did it, so I didn't even think it might bother her later...but it did.

I had to take all the new toys out and let her watch me put them in her box in the dining room before she would go to bed that night! Silly bird!
