R.I.P. Linius, my Sun conure
Tapa and Tio, Parakeets, Xander 3 month old sun conure
So I just thought I'd give you guy an update on how my parakeets are doing.
Well today I decided that they were comfy enough with my hand feeding them millet. I even lured them onto my hand once with no problem. So today I started "Step up" training with my parakeets! l worked with them together because they seem to be more confident together. I held my finger out and used the millet as a lure, and as soon as the little guys put a foot on I praised and rewarded. It was a matter of a few minuets until they were leaning forward for their turn to step up! They even cheated and fluttered to my hand a few times lol. Then I added their names. "Tapa step up" and Tio step up" . Rewards were only given when the correct parakeet stepped up and they caught on very quickly! Tomorrow I'm going to work with this too so that I can call them by name eventually without the millet and they will step up
Oh and also I taught them step down
