Transporting My Grey

I currently transport my grey in a small cage but it's getting old and I'm thinking about using a small metal dog krate instead. I just posted on the Macaw board because I may be adopting a GW Macaw and wanted to get a better idea of dimensions for Macaws. The current owner used to use a dog crate to transport her Macaw.

Does anyone transport there grey in a metal dog crate? If so, what size do you use?

I use small plastic dog crates for my grey and amazons..I use medium/lg dog crates for my macaws... All have perches installed....for short rides or vet visits.. I use a small Top opening cat crate... With towels on the bottom..
