Traveling & leaving my birdies in a pets hotel

I'm traveling and leaving my two lorikeets (Mathew and Mia) for 28 days in a pets hotel. I'm really anxious about it as it's the first time for me to leave them for this long. Anyway, I need to prepare their food and the schedule for these 28 days that will be given to them in addition to the nectar.

This is the food schedule I usually follow:
- First Morning Meal: Nectar
- Second Meal: boiled carrot mixed with dates
- snacks: fresh corn/melon + fresh grapes + fresh baby spinach and sometimes babycorn
- Last Meal: Nectar

So I don't know how I'm going to make a new schedule that will be easy since I have to prepare everything in advance (all the food is fresh) and the staff in the hotel only serves what I give them to serve based on my schedule

Is it ok to clean and freeze the fresh corn so that they can store it for too long?

What about the mashed carrots mixed with dates? I’m thinking to freeze some in ice mold that has a cover. Is it a good Idea?

Remains only the leafy vegetables and grapes, maybe I can give them a quantity for a week then order some from the super market to be delivered to the hotel?

It’s already hard for me to just be away from them for this long, and now thinking about providing the same diet is just making me worry. I don’t want them to feel less comfortable and less happy without me 🥲

You can freeze chopped veggies like corn. Even grapes and apples can be frozen, they will be a little mushy when they thaw out but birds don’t usually care. You could measure the portions and freeze small daily batches in an ice cube tray. Once the cubes are frozen, dump them into a larger container with wax paper between the layers and it will be easy to take out a cube every day.

I would worry more about exposing them to other birds at the this ;'hotel'. They are set up for dogs and cats mostly - taking care of parrots, especially ones with a very selected diet like Lorikeets may be quite another thing.

Fortunately, the hotel has separate rooms, so I booked a whole room for my birds. I Also got a security camera to be installed and working for 24h/7 and records so I’ll be watching them most of the time. Through the camera I can hear them and they can hear me back. I tried this hotel for 5 days before. I score them 8 out of 10 as they’ve knowledge about birds but not birds specialist

1- In the hotel, In my birds room, they keep Tom & Jerry music playing in the background (from 8:00am to 9:00pm). And you all know how hyper and noisy this type of music is. They say birds love loud sounds! But I feel it’s not 100% right, can someone help me? And recommande me something?

2- Is it psychologically ok to talk to my birds through the microphone, without them seeing me? I know that hearing sounds of birds that they don’t see (like when being played from YouTube) is not good for them, but is it the same when it comes to my voice?

I think Tom & Jerry music might be a bit overstimulating too. In itself playing some music sounds great but maybe they can change it to a bit less stimulating kind.
Talking through the microphone seems nice, maybe even with a camera? I think they would recognise you on a screen with your voice. On the other hand, it might make you guys miss eachother more? Just try it out and see how it feels.

I think constant noise would drive any one nuts. I would opt for a show in the background and the rest quiet time because they have each other to interact with. I've seen these hotels, glad they work for you!!

Do you’ve any music to recommande? I usually play some calming instruments. Also, sometimes I play Tarzan song “You’ll Be in My Heart”, and different other songs that aren’t noisy ..”

Oh yea, I didn’t leave them yet, but I already miss them! One week left and I feel like I can’t leave them and travel. I’ll try to find a screen that is affordable to installed to in their room

I agree. I will ask them not to play loud sounds all the time. The hotel is not 100% perfect for birds, but it’s the only best. I feel safe a bit because they listen to almost every note I give to them. Also because I’ll keep watching them from my camera to make sure everything is good. I pray from the bottom of my heart that they spend their time happily and safely till I come back 🥺 .. I have a separation anxiety from them 💔
