Tucker finally came home with me last night! Cage all set up, snuggle time, and then it was off to bed. OMG he's so sweet. Still clearly a bit stressed coming to a new home, so he hasn't eaten a lot yet. We'll get there. Other than that, he seems to be settling in quickly. Last night and this morning, he was begging for a shower, so I happily obliged, and it seemed to make him happy. He looks even more beautiful now!

More pics to follow :-)

He was a little hesitant at first, but was happy on the shower perch. As soon as I started ignoring him and getting myself under the water it was suddenly head down, wings spread, full body shake, get that water on me NOW!!!

Congratulations, Tucker is magnificent! That he accepts a shower so early bodes very well!

Congrats!!! Tucker is so sweet!! What a gorgeous ekkie!!
Thank you! He is quite beautiful. Apparently at the end of his time with his previous owners, they tried to catch him, and he wound up with no tail feathers. :-( They are mostly grown back now, and after yesterday's shower, are preened to perfection right down to the yellow tips. Yay Tucker!

And so it begins...

A day and a half in the house with us and Tucker has started calling "Mama" in my three year old granddaughters voice, and "step up" in mine. I thought he was good last night when he was beeping like a VW bug horn. We all had to look to see if it was the TV. Nope. :-D

Wow, he's picking up our voices so fast. Smart little boy! (Not that I'm a proud Ekkie dad or anything... lol)

I am so happy for you, Tucker is beautiful! He really is smart and must be feeling at home already! This really made my day.

Thanks Terry. Always happy to make someone's day. Bringing him home was a good thing. My wife and daughter are excited to have a bird in the house that allows them to handle, pet, and snuggle! He makes me happy, although I catch myself calling him Patches more than I would like to admit. I miss my little boy. I hope he's happy knowing I took in another beautiful green boy in need.

My male Ekkie had an incredibly clear little-boy voice. Not sure if typical of the species or limited to one individual.

Oh my God how sweet!!! He's so cute, so charming! I'm delighted to see him in his home at last :D

Gosh he’s beautiful. Amazing that he’s settling in so quickly! This was obviously meant to be. I’m so happy for you, and I’m sure that Patches rests more easily knowing you’re not “alone” and that another bird has a better life now.
