Oh my goodness - you have helped me more than you know....I found these horrible things in an expensive bag of Boris the Conure's food last week and hadn't seen anything like it ever, so I didn't have a clue what they were and have been trying to find out for days!
I have never seen a small insect with what looks like a pointy "beak" before! I was even thinking of posting a thread on here to find out what they were!
I'm not good with creepy crawly things at the best of times, but seeing them in food really disgusted me!

I'm so sorry about the wasted food. Never fun to find bugs. We always use air-tight containers to store Kiwi's food in if it doesn't come in a zip-lock package.

well, rest of it is in gallon ziplock bags and in the freezer for now.
