Lorne
I posted about a month ago when I adopted my Blue Crowned Conure, Lorne. I am happy to report that he is warming up to me (finally) and I am able to handle him almost every time I ask him to step up.

The problem is that he seems to still hate my boyfriend and no progress has been made there. I was told by his previous owner that he didn't like men, but research is saying that these are supposed to be a very loving species of conure that are easy to tame and train.

Any suggestions on how to get him to warm up to my boyfriend?

Your boyfriend has to become the only one that delivers the favorite treats. Also, make sure he has adequate alone time with the baby!

Yep, good advice above. M wife is in the same position your boyfriend is. Salty was not crazy about her when we first got him. But she is the food and water changer, and she's alone with Salty all day, until I get home from work. She has progressed to having him sit on her shoulder ( with no nips) , being able to scratch his belly, and getting him to step up every time, also with no nips or bites.

Funny thing, when Salty talks or sings, it's her voice he imitates. My voice is so low pitched that he sounds like the voice of Satan when he imitates me.

ROFL. I often think my conures are related to Satan, but they just behave in an evil manner, they don't sound evil!

Great advice above!
Follow their advice if you want progress and peace.
I'm a bad example of parrot culture... my flighted/fearless/ferocious stinker rules the roost here.
Glad to have you with us!
