I bought a 4 week old ringneck 3 days ago and ever since it doesn't want to move, eat or anything it doesn't or anything.
Its worrying me because it won't eat. And everytime it sees me it wants to run.
Any help would be Appreciated

But its not eating i dont want it to die

You have to start handfeeding it . Even though birds are weaned they might regress when in their new homes. Get some baby formula [it cant be hot ]. Look up hand feeding and get started . Your babies scared that's why hes acting like that.

I am sorry you are having this problem with your new baby. It might be the stress of separation from its parents/flock. It might just be stress but I would get it to a vet (avian) to have it looked at to see if there is anything else going on.......especially since you said it is not eating. Good luck and keep us posted.

Oh that's so bad!! :( Are you sure the baby is weaned properly? You might need to hand feed him.

4 WEEK OLD!!! I don't think any baby bird is weaned at 4 WEEKS!

I could be wrong, but that seems way too young to be weaned!

4 weeks is way too little I agree - the IRN babies here are usually sold at 3 mo old.

Its no weaned im using the formula 3 times a day and i have to force feed it with a syringe but it still barely takes it. It was separated from its bro/sis but the other one is doing fine mine its just too scared im not sure why

It doesnt even squak at all is that nomal

Step number one: NEVER BUY AN UNWEANED PARROT, AND NEVER BUY FROM ANYONE WHO SELLS THEM!

Step number two: TAKE THIS BIRD TO A VET

I would also suggest taking your baby to a vet to have it checked out, and to make sure you are feeding it correctly.

I would also like to add that the poster came here looking for help.
They already have the baby, and are trying to do the right thing for it.

Can we have an update? We really do care what is happening to you and your baby.

Thanks for the concern guys Appreciate it so far all i can manage at the moment is force feeding it but its still very scared and i will be taking it to a vet hopefully today

I agree with the above comments of getting it to the avian vet. I am not certain about parrots, but I know for a fact that other avians can aspirate liquid formula or soft food into their lungs during a feeding, which can cause pneumonia, and ultimately death. if your baby is lethargic, it is definitely best to seek medical care, as birds seldom show signs of their illness unless it is critical.

I think that the main reason could be thats its scared because it seems pretty fine walking around grooming itself and what not

Its not lethargic its just scared when noone is around it moves around alot ive started putting it in the cage so it can look around and get use to the environment then at night a warm box
