Hello guys. I have a question for you. Kiwi's poop has been very water the last few days. I recently travelled with her to my parents house, and have to use public transit to get there, which can have some drastic changes in temperature. I made every effort possible to keep her warm. When we got there, her poops seemed watery, and now that i'm back and with her more regularily, i'm seeing that her poops are brownish/almost clear, with a little tail of green (looks almost like a worm) going through the middle of it. This is not ALWAYS the case, but it's a lot more frequent now. Should I be worried?

P.S. 2 days ago (when I came back) I forgot her food, so for 24 hours I had to give her fresh veggies and fruits instead of regular stuff... could that be the problem? (I know this is bad for birds)

Thanks guys!

I'm not entirely sure about this, but I do know if you feed them fresh fruit and veg their poo can become more watery because of the moisture of the food. Hopefully someone else can give you a bit more advice.

Fruit & Veg can definitely make the poo runny, but I'm not sure if it would be runny for days. I think it would be best to get her to a vet, different poop can be a sign of sickness.

Fruits and veggies definitely make it more watery and the colors can vary too. After switching back to normal food, see if the poop goes back to normal as well. If not, vet trip.

it could be stress from travelling, or could be the veggies. Is she fluffed up, sleepy, still eating, lethargic? watery poop indicates something is not quite right, so keep an eye on her, and keep her warm, with a heat lamp or heater near her cage,(it's like us when we don't feel well and want a blanket to snuggle with) hopefully everything will return to normal soon, if not, a vet trip.(I'm no vet, but have learned this thru my experiences)If you keep a bird warm when their not feeling well, it helps them recuperate quicker.:)

watery poop will happen when you change their diet. If she is not used to eating fruits and veggies her poop will turn watery with a greenish worm as you stated. I feed my conure lots of fruits and veggies if I give him to much he has watery poop.

However watch her and take her to the vet if you feel something is just not right. Rapid change in diet is not really good for birdies.

I agree with Crimson. Sometimes, stress causes watery droppings.

If back on regular diet and the droppings don't return to normal, a vet trip may be in order.

I agree, I think it could be that the change of environment or too many vegs and fruit. Take her to the vet just In case.

Thanks guys. I'm going to hold off on the vet for a little bit... I have the money to take her if I need to, but her stools are starting to return back to normal, I got her back on proper food quickly. She is also acting perfectly normal, and actually is much more cuddely and trusting since our trip to meet new people! Thanks guys and i'll keep what you said in mind :)
