Vinny update: Photos and video!

Hi guys....

We have had Vinny a whole 3 days!!! I know, I know...but I am so in love w/ him.

He is currently in a baby cage and does seem to be a bit clumsy. Still worried about putting him in the bigger one. I am for play while I'm right there though so he can check it out.

He was mostly eating pellets when I got him (PB Eclectus) and now I feeding him baby food from a syringe twice a day but only a little. This stirs him up about eating other things and then I squirt the babyfood on the veggies etc...and he starts right in.

I am going to the store today to get him all sorts of things for him to try.

We had him out on the coffee table to get used to us and teaching him to play w/ all sorts of toys etc...he still will not take any food from our fingers.
He does step up pretty well.

Everything he does is in slow motion to me...the other other baby parrot that I had was a Hahns and he was all over the place.

What a cutie! Where did you get that little stand for him? I haven't seen any in the pet stores in Canada.

BTW do all babies have black on their beaks?

I have no idea....lol. I've had it forever! Probably at a show. Here's a link for others....I use this for EVERYTHING!!! Great for sticking him right next to me...good for my bathtub area....where I have a shelf that he can sit on while I take a shower. I love it for feeding him. I've used this for my Hahns mostly and the size is great for both.

Also....all the babies have black beaks.....and it slowly fades away. Not positive about all of the species though. Vinny is a Vosmaeri.

Gosh he is SUCH a stunning bird, I think Audrey might fall in love if she see's the photos haha! May I ask what camera you use? Looks amazing!

I have 4 dogs.....1 Pitty/Bulldog Ester....(not in video)

1 French Bulldog (the one walkin' around)

1 American Bully - Cyrus (big one in video)

1 Boston Terrier - Bender (the best dog ever!!)

I shoot with a Canon 5D MKII - and I was using a 50mm 1.4 lens. Good for low light.

Oh sweet! I have a MK3, I was thinking of getting that 1.4 lens, I have the 1.8 but its kind of dodgy (expected for the price haha). I Think your pics have convinced me to get it!

Well, I want the MKIII next but that'll have to wait...lol. I love that lens and use it a lot for birds, but you just have to watch that focal point... I took the darker ones with him in the cage and under a Full Spec. lightbulb....turned out cool.

It turned out awesome yeah!! Yeah, I am sure the mk3 will come down in price a lot, silly me went out and brought it first thing and now I've found it about $700 cheaper :\ Oh well haha, thats what you get for being impatient lol
