I want to do a parrot and/or bird themed movie marathon. My mom suggested these movies (anything bird related she could think of; I haven't seen most of them):

Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill
March of the Penguins
Fly Away Home
Valiant [cartoon about heroic carrier pigeons of WWI - based on history]
Ladyhawke

The Hoboken Chicken Emergency
Paulie

I thought up Disney's Rio and Hitchcock's The Birds.

Does anybody else have any bird movies to recommend?

i do love rio! i think its a good idea though, if i think of any ill get back to you :)

march of the penguins is like a documentary, it's good but since it's showing the lives of the penguins it's also really sad. :(

+fly away home is one of my fav movies, very heartwarming :)

How about Paulie? It features conures. It was made for kids but I enjoy it, too. My birds like watching it once in awhile.

After seeing March of the Penguins I feel really bad if I complain about winter. Life is easy for me compared to those poor birds!

How about "Mr. Poppers Penguins", and "The Birdman of Alcatraz".

Thanks guys!

Mayden - I forgot about March of the Penguins! I saw that in theaters! I don't think I've seen Fly Away Home though.

roxynoodle - Paulie is on my list! I think I'll watch it tonight if my boyfriend will agree to it. If he doesn't, I'll watch it tomorrow night. :-p

BillsBirds - Good ideas! Somehow I missed seeing Mr. Popper's Penguins in theaters. I'm not a big Jim Carey fan, but I really wanted to see the penguins.
I love kids movies.

What about happy Feet? It's not a flying bird but penguins are birds :D

Remy..."The Birdman of Alcatraz" is a good movie about an interesting guy. It's not very accurate, but a good story about someone who loved birds.
