African Grey
Hi,

I have 3.5months old Timneh , he started weaning from a week now though hand feeding as well But the problem is that he’s not taking his lunch & dinner feed by syringe 💉 as such Only breakfast he accepts.
He was taking 70ml of feed but now in afternoon or night he only takes 20/30ml hardly and then keeps his beak shut tightly.
What can be the reasons? Should I worry or not ? And yeah if during that time I offer him fruits or seeds then he eats but not his feed.

Any help will be appreciated :)

3.5 months is quite young for a baby African grey parrot to eat solids(as far as I know). Does he eat only fruit and seeds(other than formula)?

I hope some people more experienced in this will see this post :)

He eats anything which you offer like bread, rice, veggies everything but obviously he destroys too not fully eating as he started newly and yeah drinks water frOm bowl as well.

Bread should only be used as a treat because too much can cause sour crop(a yeast/bacterial infection in the crop) and rice too because it doesn't contain a lot of nutrients.

African greys need a diet slightly higher in calcium compared to other birds.

Good luck with your birdie! :)
