We are currently *thinking* about getting another macaw. The ideal bird would be a red front, blue and gold, hyacinth, or scarlet. My husband and I take great care of our current bird, a blue and gold, but I feel in my gut that he needs a friend of at least the same genus. He is flighted. Spends 2-3 hrs out m-f and much more on weekends. We feed the correct diet, he has a fancy light, a babysitter on date nights, rainforest music, a lot of toys and trinkets..my dad is welding him a garden box for growing sprouts in his cage under his light..you get the idea 
If you have a macaw who needs an amazing home please contact me and we can talk more. I am a biologist and my husband loves animals too. We are not in a rush, this really needs to be ideal for both parties.
