:jumping40Yeah! I finally have a deposit on a bird! It will be weaned and ready to fly home towards the end of March. I am buying from pampered peeps aviary who are some of the best small time breeders I have heard about. :D:D:D

bird.webpHere he is. Or one of his siblings that is. I don't know exactly which baby I am getting yet.

woohoo!....I have seen their web site and they look fantastic!

I bet you can hardly wait.

Congrats!! How exciting:)

Hahaha, I have a deposit down on this clutch too. ;) Small world.

I think someone may have beaten us to the punch on the first one. I know that one is being DNA tested.

One of the younger ones just had DNA sent in Friday... I'm after a male, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this clutch.

Our babies may end up being siblings!!! High five!! How cool would it be to be able to keep in touch and compare personalities and quirks between the siblings?? :D

I'm kind of ridiculously excited. Got the HQ flight cage all set up with gear this weekend (and ordered a couple more things... couldn't resist. The thing is so big it still looks empty.) I'll probably work on making some foraging toys as well. :3 Do you have a cage yet or anything?

Kisota- you made me giggle when you said "you were ridiculously excited"

Congratulations both of you! I've seen this website before. They have some cute pics in some of their past web pages.

Congratulations to both of you! How cool that you may be getting siblings!
That baby in the picture is darling:)

Yes I am counting the days until late March! I think my family is getting tired of me because that is all I can think or talk about.:) Kisota we should totally keep in touch! Being able to compare the siblings would be amazing! I am ridiculously exited too!! :)

I won't feel relaxed until I know for sure that one of this clutch is assigned to me. Until then I'll be anxious!! I've requested a male (lost my tiel to egg laying and not prepared to risk that again just yet)... so I'm waiting for DNA results and hoping for a good outcome!!!

I'm definitely planning on hanging around this forum, so if you do as well, we'll definitely be able to compare babies. :)

Just curious, and Misty, you don't have to answer, but do you know yet which baby is yours?

I've been emailed photos of the middle baby. That must be the one that's being DNA tested for me. I'm EXTREMELY anxious now, because it's been almost two weeks and no results - apparently there's some issue with the DNA sexing company and they might have to be tested locally. I am not sure how much longer I can take the suspense!

The photos I've gotten are SO SO CUTE, but I'm trying not to get attached because I really don't want to get a female right now. :( :(

I'm not sure what options there will be for me if the baby is female, either. I might end up having to wait for a future clutch or something (and that may make the timing of bringing the baby home kind of bad).... eee!! So much worrying going on over here!

No I do not know what baby is mine yet. I am getting more impatient by the day. I am going to email her today or tomorrow to ask. I believe if the baby she is testing for you turns out female then she will test mine, as I don't really have a preference, and if that one turns out male then we swap :D

I know I am getting 347. He just learned to perch! He should be home before the end of the month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol! they are pathetic looking things(i mean that in a good way) when they're babies.

Ha ha yeah

The middle sibling of 347 is supposed to be mine, but no DNA results yet! It's been over three weeks. :C The newest picture is SO gorgeous. I have to make myself not look at it. Can't get attached yet!

Totally off topic in a way, but if either of you do end up with a female, you can help to greatly reduce the female egg laying issues by adding red raspberry leaf tea / herb to their food when they hit maturity. It is a super supplement for all female birds, we are puttiing all females in our house on it (we have female bare eye too, pineapple green cheek and 2 girl tiels... maybe a sun, Loki has to be tested yet).

Good luck to both of you and it is really neat you may be getting siblings! When Victoria got her turquoise green cheek baby, she drove out to the breeders a couple times to visit with him before he was ready to come home (was about 2-1/2 hours each way), so I can completely understand the ridiculously excited part! :)

Kisota please share picture if you can I will try to add some of my newest ones.

Whoa, I've never heard the raspberry leaf thing before! I'm glad it works well for you. My tiel died of a prolapse because she couldn't stop laying eggs even with hormone treatments and everything else we could think of... so I'm not really emotionally ready for another female just yet. I know I'd probably never see a case of egg-laying so severe ever again. But I am not ready to deal with seeing even one egg after seeing what happened to my best buddy.

It's hard, because the photos are so cute and I'm having to force myself not to get attached. If I get too attached and it's a girl, I'm afraid I'll go "Wellll, I'm sure it'll be fine" and get the bird anyway, and I promised myself I wouldn't. Not yet. Maybe later, and maybe if it was a larger/less prolific bird. But for my own comfort, I really want a boy this time around. (I kind of have my heart set on one now that I've thought about it so much, too!)

And yes, I will share photos. But I think I'm going to wait until I know for sure which baby will be mine. If I start showing off the photos it just feels too... official. And if I don't get the bird it's like I'm showing off someone else's baby.

I think there's another clutch, so worst case scenario I guess I can hope one of those babies is male.

I'd LOVE to see photos of your baby, though. <3
