Hi guys,
I know it's been forever, but all is well with me and Maui. He's still my little sunshine boy, I love him SO much! HOWEVER, As you all know, my Mom has 6 Sun Conures, One of her mated pairs laid 4 eggs, one was broken because the nest was off the cage for a day because it needed to be better secured, well, of course THAT night, she laid and egg on the bottom grate and broke it. We secured the nest right away and she laid another 3 eggs. On December 31st, we had our first baby, then on December 2nd, we had another and most likely by tomorrow, we'll have the third baby hatch. SO exciting and Cujo and Tiki are very proud and PROTECTIVE parents, LOL.
As for Babe (the Macaw), The lady decided she wasn't quite ready to part with him, The night before I was supposed to go pick him up, she sent me an email explaining that she was just not ready yet, I completely understood, Babe has been in her life for over 17 yrs, the decision to re home him was a very very difficult one, and she's realized that she just needs some more time with him. Babe doesn't know it, but I'm sure he totally approves of her change of heart. Judy (Babes Mom) and I have made an amazing connection and I intend on keeping in touch with her and am planning to come for a visit anyways!
AT some point, IF she changes her mind again, I'll be her first choice, so it would be cool to get to know Babe regardless. Which reminds me, I should definitely write to her and wish her a HAPPY HAPPY New Year.
HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU GUYS!! HOPE YOU ALL HAD A WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL HOLIDAY SEASON!!
Maui just gets smarter and smarter every day, although, not really talking much yet. He can say "Hello", but he stopped saying it for WEEKS, then all the sudden, he said it the other day!! I always wonder if he'll talk or not, I don't really care either way, I love him just the way he is!
