Today has been crap!
I think Ticka's sick
Scarlet heard floyd bark today for the first time (he hardly ever barks) and now she wont come out just as she started to get better shes gone back to square one again!
I didnt think something as small as a bark from the dog would be able to set her off like this. poor girl.. just as she was begining to come out of her shell.
Lets see how tomorrow goes.. I hope Ticka's okay

Oh no, that is such a shame. But I think she just needs to get used to it. It's probably a strange sound to her.

If Ticka is sick you need to isolate her from the other birds and contact an Avian Vet.

I am sure Scarlet will adjust. Abby was that way when my dogs barked when I got her.. Now she ignores them all together.

I agree with Ann. She will be fine. It takes time to adjust to new surroundings .
And it your a bit flighty , it just takes a bit longer
Think positive and dont give up , your doing great , minor setbacks happen to us all.

Turns out Ticka is fine! Thank god!
Scarlet is doing better the last few days. Just need to start on the snatching food issue, any ideas how to stop it? Shes really aggressive when anyone trys to give her a treat..

Unfortunately i dont have a suggestion for that. Im a firm beleiver that is an Ekkie trait. Its the part thats left out in all the facts on them. They really are food obsessive, Roc is jekyl and hyde when it comes to food. He also loves ice, so every ungaurded cup gets a thourough check and if theres ice, he goes diving in for it.
