The one on the left appears to be a Sun Conure. The one on the right appears to by a hybrid SUNDAY (Sun-Jenday) conure.

Same basic personality for both birds. i.e. Honey I shrunk the macaw!

Isn't the one on the right what they are calling red factor sun conures? I don't know enough about them.

Now that I look at the coloring, they might both be Sunday conures...

That would explain all that orange on the belly, with still having some yellow on the wings, but not as much as you would expect to see in a full sunny...

So, I am changing my response to those are probably BOTH Sundays...

thats what i thought when i first seen them , sunday conures , but was told sun conures and the female was dna'd 2 years 3 months ago and that is the bird on the right , so if a sun i would think she would be more yellow , the male on the left was dna'd 2 years 5 months ago so again if a sun i think would be more yellow.
cheers

I agree. DNA would give you the sex, but suns and jendays are part of the same Arritanga conure family. I doubt they would test for genetic purity... if there even is such a thing.

Their personalities don't change. And they are both very pretty and in good feather. So, regardless of how you classify them, they're still the same shrunken happy go lucky macaw personality birds...

There actually is such a thing, but I'd be surprised if you could find someone who could run those tests for you.

Sundays

RF suns do not look like that... and pure suns are not that red.

Suns are a yellowish-orange color.
Red Factor suns range from orange to fiery orange/red.

Jendays are more of a burgundy red color.

I really like this image.... it has a sun conure, a jenday and their three hybrid chicks in the photo! See if you can figure out who's who!!!

Dna testing can but you won't find someone to do it on a pet bird.

I think what he was getting at though was that they were dna tested over two years ago meaning that they are at least that old and so would be fully coloured up if they were pure sun conures.
