What do you get when you cross a cinnamon female and a white face male?
So far as I have observed there has been no mating yet but Cheeky (male white face) is trying.
I have read that if you cross a male white face and a lutino you would get albino babies.
I really don't care what mutation I end up with but I sure would like to have baby cockatiels.
Have wanted babies ever since I got my first cockatiel (by accident) over 15 years ago.

Have you bred birds in the past? Are you sure you're prepared to take on the task? There are som Stickies at the top of this section to look through which have some good information too.

I have not bread birds before.
I am willing to do anything I can to make this a success including buying an incubator if necessary.
We have a local pet store that sells baby bird formula and all kinds of stuff.

From what I understand, it can be quite a challenge to do everything correctly, and if the chicks need human intervention then there is a whole lot that you'd need to know. I would not want to do it personally . Hopefully some breeders will see this.

yes I am sure it goes wrong sometimes but short of separating them what are you suppose to do, have them neutered?
Not trying to make money, I don't think the wife would let me sell any.

I'd say separate them, but you might get some answers here. It might take a little while since most members aren't breeders. I think SilverSage is a good person for you to talk to, and might be able to answer your initial question, but she hasn't been on lately.

To answer the original question, the short answer is it depends on what recessive traits the parents carry. White face is recessive and unless the Cinnamon carries white face, then none of the babies will be white faced... it's the same story the other way. Then there are other traits they could be carrying that you won't know about until they have babies... they could both be split for lutino for example. So if you want further answers you would need to know at least what both birds parents are.

If you want to stop them from breeding I would suggest splitting them, and if you don't want to do that then get rid of the nest and perhaps add some sprinkled Avicalm to their food to lower their hormonal tendencies.

My non-representative sample of mourning doves nesting in my back yard this breeding season: 2 nests/pairs

Pair 1: 2 clutches of two eggs each. 1st clutch hatched, neither survived. 2nd clutch hatched, both survived to fledge. Didn't see them after that.

Pair 2: 1 clutch of 2 eggs. Didn't hatch.

Of the 3 chicks that hatched I have ended up with.

This is preliminary .. oldest chick in less that 30 days old.

1st hatched appears to be Lutino (all yellow and white)
2nd hatched appears to be Pied (yellow and grey/charcoal)
3rd hatched is hardest to guess but he looks closest to whiteface (feet are dark, feathers are mostly dark and pale orange cheek patch)

I understand that coloration can change some after first molt.
