We have a new family member, and I can't figure out which green cheek mutation he/she is (i'll go with she for simplicity). She is only a baby so her colors will develop more I think? I've never had a baby bird before-- I've only ever adopted adults.

I won't get into how she came to be, but I must say, whoever hand-raised her, I'm impressed. She's really, really well socialized, and has a great independence. Her daddy claims she's already croaking "step up" 48 hours after coming home-- she wasn't stepping up in the store.

Her head is the prettiest taupe color, and she's got gorgeous little peach-colored cheeks. Really, really sweet. Hatch date 1/6/14

I am guessing pineapple.

I'd guess pineapple, but the more experienced folks will pipe in soon.

Ditto what the others said! ;)

Very pretty opaline cinnamon! :D

Thanks everyone! I found this wonderful and thorough link finally--http://www.themajesticparrot.com/green-cheeked-conures.html
She's definitely a pineapple, due to the yellow under her wings! They're calling the variation pineapple, "aka cinnamon yellow-sided" --whatever that means :-)

That's what I was about to suggest - check the wings! Yellow under the wings means pineapple, green means cinnamon.

The pineapple mutation is two mutations. It's just a nickname they use for the combined mutations.

Therefore, a pineapple is the same thing as a cinnamon yellowside, and the correct term for "yellowside" is opaline.

Scientifically (genetically), she(?) is a cinnamon opaline mutation, otherwise known as a "pineapple" for short. :)
