Anyone know what kind of bird this is! It is a juvenile- he was lying in the middle of road unresponsive- I initially thought he was died. This is a juvenile/baby bird. I am pretty sure it’s a starling- Found in Ohio West Va n Pennsylvania panhandle area
Local wildlife rehab will not rehabilitate an invasive species

Thank you for saving this bird, my uneducated guess is also starling.

Will local rehab at least give you tips to rehabilitate without suggesting a release. No idea if starlings make good companions.

Understanding that they are flooded this time of year.

See the Breeder sub-forum here for feeding understanding that you will quickly be adding protein (bugs) to the meal quickly. If you are interested they can become a companion.

Scott...doesn't our beloved Ms Terry have " Ringo Starling"? as a companion fid? Looks to me to be a Starling also. I have seen a few YT vids of people with Starlings as companion fid's and they all look to be very well cared for and tame.
Starlings, like crows and ravens, are mischevious little critters that like to steal/walk off with shiny trinkets and add to their stash ( like 'Boat's Julio :D)
never to be found again!

Looks exactly like the one i shoooed out of my house a few days ago.

Thank you for all the replies and well wishes. A rescue I’ve called previously for parrot advice tried to help and suggested YouTube videos to guide me how to take care of him. I found a really informative video that I’ll post. I wasn’t comfortable to tube feed on my own ( it was a hot sunny day on hot pavement with stinky cars driving over him- he looked dehydrated and very weak). I called around looking for a vet to see him and couldn’t find anyone who would see a wild bird. As he got worse I tried to syringe feed with 1ml syringe. He was still bad so I went back to calling vets and the last vet office told me about a organization that accepts starlings and pigeons. Unfortunat while I was on hold with the last vet office the little birdy already passed
