Maxie pionus has ever growing beak and a fat pad at the base underside tail

Welcome and be welcomed!

He needs more opportunities to chew and use the beak. Start him out with softer woods at first if he has never been into it. Bits of balsa wood is good. Lots of toys with wood. Vine toys, other basket like materials are also good chew inducing materials. If you muct trim, jave the vet take only the littlest bit, beaks have nerves in them, and like the claws, you don;t take off a lot at one time.
