Weco, you are correct he was bought at a bird market here in Surabaya - Indonesia where i have been living for the last 12 years. And those guys selling most likely only know the local name, which is difficult to get any use from if you try to google it...
I would say that mostly they do take good care with the diets of the animals, since the value of these birds are rather high, compared to the local salaries, and as far i could judge the he looks healthy and i could see he was feed bananas and other fruits, together with a honey-water mix.
And i was actually looking for a couple of "love birds" since my wife really like those, but i just saw this little guy, and he won me over. So now i'm trying to figure out the best way to care for him...
