What species?

I'm sorry, i was looking pictures of jakiepoo to put on Christmas Tree decorations and thought i'd mess with ya'll. Yes Merlee that's my jake, she's almost 44 now and she's an adult parvipes nape. Gorgeous isn't she? She's the only parvipes in our flock and she's so differently colored than the other napes. She get's yellower with every molt. You can't really tell but the yellow is starting right on down her back and almost all the way around her neck.

I am still learning about yellow napes because most of the birds I have seen are younger than mine, including on the internet. My question is, what will a yellow nape look like in its senior years? Yours is the oldest one I have seen. Is Jake's coloring typical of a mature yellow nape or has she just been blessed?

Did I win anything? Huh? Huh? hahaha!

I think Jake is pretty normal for the parvipes subspecies of yellow napes. Which are not very common.

There is a soft rock radio station I love to listen to which has changed its format to Christmas songs. I enjoy the music but by Christmas I am sick of it.

My tree will come out of storage next weekend. I bought a new artificial tree last year so I should get it up soon. It has the lights built in so I do not have any excuses to procrastinate. Usually I get it up by midmonth.
