So, I had asked in a previous thread about what to feed my green cheek conure...
With some advice from experts on here (JerseyWendy!) I decided to buy and mix Goldenfeast, TOPS, and ZuPreem. I will supplement with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Now, what would I use as treats? Seeing most of these mixes have essentially everything - sunflower seeds, nuts, etc, what is left to use? Since fruits are supposed to be given anyway/regularly, they wouldn't really be considered treats. I purchased some nutriberries but they seem like basic food mixes crammed into little ball shapes. Do I simply see what my bird likes to pick out from their food and sift them out to reserve as treats?
Are there certain things not typically included in foods that could be used as treats? Like raw almonds?
Any advice on what treats can be given regularly vs sparingly?
Just trying to learn and do it right.
