This is probably the most exciting thing you can see

That is truly a beautiful new feather!!!

You are so very right! It is heartwarming to see new feathers. One develops a deep appreciation for Feathers and especially a new Feather!

Congratulations!!!

I find myself transfixed with the beauty of the White and Gray downy Feathers. And, to see a large Body Feathers or larger Feathers are like gifts from On-High!

Thank-you for sharing this joy!

Absolutely! Congratulations to you, and Linc, and that fabulous feather!

a very poor video of him and an attempt to show off some more pin feathers I found. He didn't make it easy xD
his cage is also overdue for a cleaning it's just been really snowy lately and it's easiest for me to take the cage outside to clean it

Holy cow.... is it eclectus plucking season? Mine is finally growing his back, so I know exactly what you mean...lol!

It's unfortunate that eclectus parrots are so prone to plucking. I don't think I've ever seen a fully feather older ekkie.

Amazing how one beautiful little green feather can bring so much joy. Yea for him! Love it!

Ugh I’ve learned to dislike them. They come to signify the unending cycle we have to bear witness to.

It makes me happy because it's a new chance, maybe I can get him to keep his feathers this time, it could be seen at turning over a new leaf.

Congratulations on the new pins! Exciting, indeed! I'm hoping that he lets them all grow out this time. Here's to the turning over of new leaves!

I know that feeling well! It can be very disheartening to find those little sprouts in the bottom of the cage the next day. But you can't help but be excited by spotting them poking through the grey fuzz. Reminds me of when you plant seeds and get to see those first little shoots coming up through the ground :D

From my experience with Gerry, the thing that really helped us turn a corner with his plucking (besides giving him lots of toys and things to shred) was me soaking him and drying him until slightly damp at least every other day. The second I saw him start preening, I took him straight off to the shower, then dried him until only slightly damp, then, after his shower, his preening is productive rather than destructive.

I really hope we get to see these feathers! Go Lincoln!

I can try bathing Lincoln every other day but he definitely would not let me dry him x.x I just let him air dry in a warm room

That's unbelievably awesome. You must be feeling ecstatic:jumping40. Fingers crossed for feather regrowth :):green2:

I’ve just been through it a few too many times. Sorry, didn’t mean to rain on your parade.

I can say though that for the first time ever Parker is entering spring/summer with a few green feathers on his chest. Usually by now all green is long gone. But he’s showed no interest in further barbering this year. So who knows, maybe there is hope yet! :)

You haven't rained on my parade so don't worry! There's always hope imo

Absolutely always hope. We're anxiously waiting for the parade to start. Patches hasn't really molted since he arrived at the refuge and no feathers on the floor with me, although he's only been here a few weeks. I'm still excited to see a new grey fluff come in and other fluff staying on him. From where he was, that's a miracle already. I admit, the fuzzy grey pajama look is kind of adorable. No green at all yet, but hiding under the ragged green wing feathers he is getting some beautiful new blue ones! Hard to tell, but it looks like he has pretty much left them in tact so far. Can't wait for an actual molt to see what happens. Fingers crossed for all the pluckers. Every day is a new day [emoji5]

I guess it's a good day. After his morning shower I found this!

Wow!! good luck with Patches! He's definitely in a good home now.

Aaaaand one step back... He still won't leave those tail feathers alone. Found this on the floor after 10 minutes out of the cage. At least he is still growing fluff on his little ducky tail, and it's not that new pretty green wing feather.
