Why is the top of the sleep cage so valuable to them?

I have heard of defending their territory when inside the cage but the cage top. Mind you, top of the cage cones to below my chest so they are not high up.

Lately my Sun and Quwher have been interested in the top of the sleep cage.

When they end up in there they will either move away or my Sun will lunge and try to bite.

This doesn’t happen all the time but I do notice that when the Quaker doesn’t cooperate it’s likely the Sun won’t either LOL! It’s kind they gotta do it together. However sometimes my Sun will think for herself and step up.

What’s so desirable about a cage too that’s not that high?

Their day cage is high. The top is my Guevara. I can understand how that may be a desirable place to be.
