Wife has 1 Sun Conure
Just wanted to show off the first toy my wife made for our Sun Conure that will be coming home soon. All the shells are from Folly Beach which is basically our second home.

That is beautiful......... well done to your wife.
Looks gorgeous and so colourful......many hours of fun in there for sure.

A word of precaution: that wire at the top, on the right hand side, below the clasp : Please make sure you clasp it together properly. Mishka once chipped his beak, because one was not clasped properly. Also make sure there are not sharp edges on all the shells as well.

I am just looking our for your bird, as I would for mine.

Thanks for the good eye! I will make sure all of those loops are closed before putting it in the cage.

Nice work! But, I would be cautious about using too many seashells because of the salt absorbed from the sea water. The calcium in them would be good, but, the sodium in the salt might not. Others here may know better about if it's okay. I tend to be overcautious.

Yeah I thought about that and the fact that beaches have plenty of pollutants as well. When I brought the shells home I went ahead and boiled them for about a half hour before drying and washing them off in cold water.

Good move. Glad to see you're thinking ahead of birds health.
