Jacko has to go in to get his nails done sometime this week (terrible timing since we're January, I know---but the little turkey has to go in every two months because his nails were terribly overgrown thanks to his previous 'home' *sigh*)
His pak-o-bird carrier is due to arrive Wednesday (on a side note soooo excited
about that) so I'm hoping that will offer a bit more protection and warmth to him than the cat carrier.
I have to take public transport to get to the vet, 2 buses and one metro (sorry---subway I'm from Quebec after all
) the good news all of it is heated its just the wait times and getting in/out that im worried about. The vet showed me one of the new heatpad products called 'snugglesafe' and the way she instructed me to use it was to get a giant polar fleece covering to go around all of the cat carrier and put the heatpad between it and the bottom of the carrier.
Now that I have the pak-o-bird I'm thinking that I'll just wrap the heatpad in Jacko's blanket, put it in the bottom of the pak-o-bird hoping that it sort of gives off heat...but somehow I dont think it works that way lol. Any other suggestions?
I *really* dont want to go the cat carrier route anymore---being disabled its awfully hard to hold onto the cat carrier and the bus at the same time lol (part of the reason I got a pak-o-bird----yaaaaay shoulder straps)
Also---the snugglesafe retails for 30 bucks (which isnt bad) but the polar fleece covering retails for $60! If only I could sew lol!
